Так сложилась политико-управленческая система. Вы все знаете, что Президент внес на рассмотрение в Госдуму РФ проект закона «О полиции». И я хочу напомнить, что Ставрополье одна из немногих территорий России, куда Президент и Министр внутренних дел приезжали, чтобы посоветоваться по поводу закона «О полиции». Посоветоваться с общественностью, с милиционерами, простыми людьми. Это, конечно, дорогого стоит. Нам нужны толковые, грамотные офицеры, и они уже служат в рядах нашей милиции. Начатая реформа правоохранительных органов – судьбоносная, потому что затрагивает интересы каждого гражданина нашей страны.
Валерий Гаевский подчеркнул, что люди идущие служить в ряды милиции в нашем регионе, принимают на себя большую ответственность, ведь представителем правопорядка на Ставрополье приходится бороться не только с криминальной угрозой, но с экстремизмом.
А Епископ Владикавказкий и Ставропольский Феофан, обращаясь к офицерам внутренних органов, сказал:
– Вы должны быть сильными не только физически, но и духом, потому что только тогда вы сможете встать на защиту нас всех, и пусть вам поможет в этом Господь.
Главный милиционер края заявил, что его подчиненных ждут два непростых года. Это будет сложное время реформирования и перемен.
Лучших представителей правопорядка отметили грамотами и наградами, некоторым офицерам присвоили очередные милицейские звания. Губернатор вручил медаль «За отличие в охране общественного порядка» ветерану органов правопорядка края Александру Кондратову, награжденному Указом Президента РФ за самоотверженность при исполнении служебного долга. Еще троим сотрудникам ставропольской милиции одна из строительных компаний, вручила ордера и ключи от новых квартир.
